Chicago Cubs are Killing Me

Being a Cubbies fan is killing me. I managed to jump on the Chicago Cub bandwagon last year just in time to get thrown from it in the playoffs. Now I\'m in the process of enduring my first full season as a Cubs fan and, after the loss to St. Louis 11-8 I have to public announce it is killing me. A few noteable reasons are: 1) Cubs Bullpen Sucks 2) Sosa is nearing the end of his shelf-life 3) Cubs Buillpen Sucks 4) Pattersen can\'t get a lead off hit to save his life 5) Cubs Buillpen Sucks 6) Cubs collectively...

Loser League

Having grown a bit tired of the same-old Fantasy Football I decided to try something new this year....an NFL loser league. The rules are quite simple. Each week you will submit a pick for a team you think will lose. If your team loses you move on to the next week, if your team wins you are out of the competition. You cannot pick the same team two weeks in a row. Entry is $20 and the pay is 100% to the winner. If at the end more than one team goes out...

Golf Update

I write this knowing that not many are listening and this is more for a matter of personal record than anything else. As I covered in this article, I have renewed my relationship with golf due to an embarassing experience that I dare never repeat. I have dubbed that experience the Blue Ruin in Wisconsin and vowed to not let golf punk me out like that again.

Last I left you I was a consistent 100 golfer. The recent past has produced similar results, 100, 101 and 99. However I did manage to pull it together...

Mickey Ward vs. Arturo Gatti III A Disappointment

Keep in mind all I say comes from a guy who has devoted much of his early years to wrestling, a grueling sport demanding a lot of dedication and sacrifices. I would also argue that boxing brings the set of dedication and sacrifices that wrestling does. So I\'m sitting down on Sunday enjoying some primetime TV and managed to catch the rebroadcast of the Ward vs. Gatti III fight on HBO. This fight was touted as the final of one of the most brutal series in boxing history. HBO set the stage perfectly in their prefight coverage....

Friggin’ Golf

Blame it on my pops. I can't handle sucking at any sport no matter how infrequent I play it. If it is worth playing, it is worth excelling at. Golf is no different. Last year on what I was hoping would be primarily a fishing weekend to Green Lake, WI, I played a friendly round of golf with my Uncle Doug. While my Uncle brought a decent game, I managed to pull out the worst round of golf of my life. If fact, let me take a minute to thank my Uncle and the two...

Raider Watch

Well, the Oakland Raiders take to the field against the Tennessee Titans Sunday. I'm a bit worried my Raiders aren't going to be able to find a way to contain McNair. However if it came to a blow-for-blow offensive shoot-out I give the game hands down to the Raiders. Turnovers, however, will be key. If we can avoid 'em and even cause a few for them we'll be in great shape. Of course, nothing is for certain which is why they play the game.

Anyway, for those any of you who roam in...
