Geeklog was one of the projects Google approved for their summer of code. As a result of participating in the project and getting our surveys in on time the Geeklog Mentors (Dirk, Blaine and myself) are heading to San Jose on Oct. 6th for the Google Summer of Code Summit. I’ve been working with those two guys (and others) for the better part of 7 years and have yet to meet either of them in person. While helping Google improve their Summer of Code program this will a great opportunity to meet two people I have tremendous respect for. While Geeklog may seem a small player in the open source CMS market, it is one of the few I feel is being ran by experience, mature coders (no, I’m not talking about myself) so this is a great opportunity for me.
Anyway, I know there are going to be representatives there from a large number of other open source projects and if you will be going to the Summit please feel free to drop me a note as I see that whole weekend trip as one big chance to meet a lot of other self-respecting “Geeks”.
