Oakland Raiders 2007 Looks Bad

Until this week I haven’t even begun to think about the upcoming football season but thanks to RB Dominic Rhodes stupidity I have now put in some CPU cycles on the upcoming season.

First I was elated to find out Oakland is going to have games against the NFC Central putting them in my neck of the woods for something other than a Chiefs match-up. Particularly attractive is the 11/25 match-up against the Viking in Minneapolis as it would be a doable four hour drive to the Twin Cities…but it is not meant to be. I’ll be in Mexico for a much needed vacation. There is also annual game against the Chiefs on 12/2 which probably won’t be something I can make because I would have just returned back home from Mexico after a week of missing my three girls. This is on top of the fact that I already knew that the vacation would severely interfere with hunting the whitetail rut…yes, at times I’m an idiot. But in all of this I still win with a great vacation with friends, warm tropical climate and some one-on-one time with momma…but I digress.

My first issue is the same issue I’ve had with the Raiders organization for the past decade. Al Davis. I joke often that the Raiders are a heart attack away from being good again. While in reality I would never wish that sort of thing on a person, I think the thought makes it clear that I along with many Raiders fans feel it is time for a change in leadership. But for 2007 it ain’t happening so let’s focus on the upcoming season.
