You’ve all heard about it by now. Terrell Owens was runnin’ off at the mouth again and this time he managed to get his ass effectively dismissed from the Eagles.
First, let me be the first to remind some of my friends that I was the first one to recognize that when Keyshawn Johnson was working on getting let go by the Tampa Bay Bucs that it was a precident and that T.O. would be next.
Second, I want to be one of the many that tell the Eagles Franchise that they finally get what they deserve. What? You pick up an a-hole from the 49′ers and expect him to be a saint? No, he’s still an a-hole…probably worse than ever and now you want to collectively play the victim? Part of me thinks you should eat what you owe him on his contract and give the money to charity for being so stupid to believe he’d change.
Finally to T.O. For helping change the opinions of fans, to bring the sport of professional football down to your pathetic level. I’ve got two words for professional athletes…Morality Contract. In my opinion, I’d be all for allowing college and professional franchises to enforce morality contracts where anybody that gets arrested for anything other than a simple misdemeanor or anybody that really tarnishes the reputation of a school or franchise to be essentially fired.
That’s right, T.O – fired. Jamal Lewis – fired. Pierre Pierce – fired. Jason Berryman – fired. Athletics at the college and pro level is a privilege…not a birth right. If you can’t stay out of jail or keep from bringing shame to the very game you claim you love you should be fired.
You know, next year I’m going to forego any involvement with professional and college football. No football on TV, no going to games, no football gear, nada. Instead I will get my coaching endorsement and teach a few kids how to wrestle. It’s the best way I can think of to tell the NCAA/NFL I’m fed up and do something good in the process.
